Michelle Obama to appear on "Parks and Recreation"
First lady Michelle Obama is going to make an appearance on the season finale of "Parks and Recreation," NBC announced Thursday.
Mrs. Obama's cameo in the episode, titled "Moving Up," was in late February in Miami, where she celebrated investments in healthier out-of-school programs as part of her "Let's Move" initiative dedicated to solving the challenge of childhood obesity. "Parks and Rec" star Amy Poehler was among those in attendance.
The first lady isn't the first real-life Washington figure to appear on the show. Vice President Joe Biden met a very star-struck Leslie Knope (played by Poehler) during a 2012 episode. Others politicians who have made cameos include Arizona Sen. John McCain, California Sen. Barbara Boxer and former Maine Sen. Olympia Snowe.
The hour-long "Parks and Recreation" season 6 finale is set to air April 24 at 8 p.m. ET.
