Michael Jordan Scores Again

A holiday appearance for the man who lifted the sport of basketball to new heights raised children's spirits in Chicago.

Michael Jordan and his family hosted the annual James Jordan Boys and Girls Club holiday party.

Chicago companies pitched in to donate food, and Jordan helped distribute gifts to the children.

"A lot of times they see Michael Jordan as a figure on TV and don't realize that he's a real person," he told the Chicago television station. "I think that coming out, spending time, shaking hands and passing out gifts gives a humanistic side to Michael Jordan."

Jordan said he plans to ring in the new year relaxing with family.

And he promised he's going to have a very busy new year, with several new business ventures.
