Meg Ryan to produce and star in NBC comedy
Meg Ryan will now be a regular in your living room.
The "When Harry Met Sally" star will star in and produce an NBC comedy about a former hotshot New York editor. This marks the stars first soiree in TV since 1982's short-lived comedy "One of the Boys" with Mickey Rooney, Dana Carvey and Nathan Lane.
The half-hour, single-camera comedy will be penned by former "Family Ties" Emmy nominee Marc Lawrence and will have Ryan playing a cheerful, devoted single mom who decides to return to her New York publishing house where she was once a top editor to discover that she now works for her neurotic 30-year-old former intern. (Sounds like a "Sex and the City" episode if we ever heard one.)
Ryan will executive produce the project with manager Jane Berliner for Universal Television and Lawrence's Reserve Room Productions.
