Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen talk "Full House" revival
When news broke earlier this week that Netflix is officially working on a "Full House" revival, it was apparently news to two of the show's biggest stars.
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who played young Michelle Tanner on the original series, say they had no knowledge of the new series prior to John Stamos announcing it Monday night on "Jimmy Kimmel Live."
"We just found out about it today," Mary-Kate told WWD during an interview Tuesday. "I guess we're going to talk to the creators and see what's happening."
The series, called "Fuller House," will center on the eldest Tanner daughter, D.J. (Candace Cameron Bure), now a widowed and pregnant veterinarian. Her younger sister Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) and best friend Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber) move into the familiar family home to help raise her two sons and the baby on the way.
"I ran into Bob [Saget] the other day and we didn't even talk about it," Ashley said of the actor who played her on-screen dad, Danny Tanner.
The 28-year-olds left their acting days behind and have since launched successful careers as fashion designers, with the lines Elizabeth & James and The Row under their belts.
But would they reprise their role as Michelle for "Fuller House"? The pair didn't rule it out, but might seek parental guidance on it.
"I'm going to call [Saget] and get his perspective," Ashley said.
