Maroon 5 to perform at 2014 MTV Video Music Awards
Newlywed Adam Levine and his Maroon 5 bandmates want their MTV.
The group has signed on to perform at this year's MTV Video Music Awards for the first time.
The cable network announced the band's addition to the ceremony via Twitter on Wednesday:
The band is expected to perform a new song from its upcoming fifth album, "V," due out Sept. 2.
Other acts lined up to appear at this year's VMAs include Levine's former "The Voice" colleague Usher, Ariana Grande and 5 Seconds of Summer.
The 2014 MTV Video Music Awards will air live from Inglewood, Calif., on Sunday, Aug. 24 at 9 p.m. ET on MTV.
