Mark Fields, Ex-NFL Player, Arrested for Alleged Domestic Violence
PHOENIX, Ariz. (CBS/KPHO) Former NFL player Mark Fields was arrested after he allegedly beat the mother of his 6-year-old daughter outside the child's day care center.
According to court documents obtained by CBS affiliate KPHO, Fields claimed that his ex-girlfriend was trying to take the child right out of his arms; however, witnesses contend they saw the 37-year-old approach the woman outside the facility Monday, grab her and choke her by the throat.
He then allegedly proceeded to place his ex in a choke hold with his arm and throw her to the ground.
The woman told police that Fields was not allowed to see or have any type of contact with their child, but that as she was attempting to drop off the court order at the day-care facility about 20 miles from downtown Phoenix, Fields just showed up, and things went south.
Police arrested the ex-Panther-Ram-Saints' player at his Litchfield Park home Monday on felony counts of aggravated assault and interference with education, and misdemeanor counts of endangerment and disorderly conduct.
