Mariska Hargitay
Mariska Hargitay's mother was actress and screen siren Jayne Mansfield, who died in a car accident in 1967.
Hargitay's first film was the 1985 horror flick "Ghoulies," but she got her start on television in the 1980s soap "Falcon Crest."
She guest-starred on TV series such as "The Single Guy" and "ER" before being cast on the Law & Order spinoff, "Law & Order: SVU" as Det. Olivia Benson in 1999. She has received three Emmy nominatios for that role.
Hargitay and actor Peter Hermann married in 2004 and welcomed their first child in June 2006.
