Marie Osmond: Laughter Is The Best Remedy

Marie Osmond is a woman who has weathered a lot in her life, growing up with eight brothers, three decades of show business, and eight children of her own.

She has written a new book about her thoughts, philosophies and experiences called "Might As Well Laugh About It Now."

The Osmond beauty, who turns 50 in October, shared her story with Early Show co-anchors Harry Smith and Maggie Rodriguez then got up to dance an interesting and funny version of the Paso Doble with Smith.

"It's interesting because I really didn't have an idea or even a thought to write a book, but my house burnt down. And in it, I lost 30 years of journals," she said. "And so Marsha Wilkie, who wrote my last book, she was head writer on 'Donny and Marie' and she was going to be on my talk show and I said, 'Can you help me as I remember these stories because I might forget them in a few years and I want my children to have these.'

"She went off and sent them off to the book publisher. And hello, here we are and here's the book! It's not -- I have been asked to write an autobiography and anything like that. We were joking around and I said, I'm only half-dead," she joked about her age.
