Mariah Carey will still perform after being hospitalized for the flu

Mariah Carey can make it through the rain -- and apparently flu season!

Despite reports that the 45-year-old diva was hospitalized in New York City for severe flu on Wednesday, her rep tells ET that the singer will be performing at Hot 97's "Hot for the Holidays" concert in Newark, New Jersey, on Saturday as scheduled.

"Unfortunately, Mariah had been feeling under the weather with the flu over the past few days and was fighting it to the best of her abilities," Carey's rep says. "She is doing well now and will be performing as scheduled this weekend. She thanks her lambs for the continued support and well wishes."

In addition to Carey, Saturday's star-studded concert lineup at the Prudential Center includes Puff Daddy, Fetty Wap, Mary J. Blige, Lil Wayne, Lox, Busta Rhymes, Rick Ross and French Montana.

Carey reportedly started feeling ill on Tuesday night, following an appearance at a holiday event hosted by Pier 1 Imports. Carey stopped by to wish fans a Merry Christmas, and to unveil a recording of her reading from the Pier 1 Imports pop-up storybook.

"Mariah was the ultimate professional at our Pier 1 Christmas Pop-up Storybook launch in SoHo," a statement from the store read. "She had fallen ill earlier in the day, but participated in the event [Tuesday] as much as she could. Pier 1 wishes the 'Queen of Christmas' a speedy recovery and happy Holidays!"

Carey later took to Twitter to thank her 15.7 million followers for their 'get well' tweets.

"Thank you #Lambily for all the well wishes, I'm feeling much better now! Go and get your flu shots!" the "All I Want for Christmas Is You" singer wrote.
