Marc Jacobs to receive CFDA lifetime achievement award
(CBS/AP) - Marc Jacobs has been selected as this year's lifetime achievement winner by the Council of Fashion Designers of America.
Director Sofia Coppola, his friend, will present the award to Jacobs at Monday's 29th CFDA awards, a splashy ceremony at Lincoln Center in New York, to be hosted by Anderson Cooper with pop star Lady Gaga receiving one of the prizes.

Jacobs, who is at the forefront of two mega brands, his namesake collection, plus Louis Vuitton, joins past winners Michael Kors, Diane von Furstenberg, Donna Karan, Yves Saint Laurent and Geoffrey Beene, for whom the award is now named.
He has already won numerous times in the competitive categories of womenswear, menswear and accessories. And come Monday, he could go home double-fisted: He is nominated as the year's best woman's designer again, this time facing Alexander Wang and the design duo Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough of Proenza Schouler.
"It's crazy,'' Jacobs told the Associated Press. "I mean, I have a lot more to do. 'Achievement' sounds final. I'd like to call it `Lifetime of achievement and for what's left to achieve.'''
He adds, "I have no intention of slowing down. I don't rest anyway.''
Along with the top talent in the fashion industry, Monday's CFDAs will also have many Hollywood stars in the audience.
Jessica Alba, Ashley Greene, Kirsten Dunst, Kerry Washington, Liv Tyler, Joe Jonas, and rapper Kanye West, who will reportedly hand out the International Award to Celine's Pheobe Philo, are all expected to attend.
