Mandy Moore's Ghostly Encounter

Mandy Moore doesn't let fear get in her way. Jump out of an airplane? No problem. Live in a haunted house? Bring it on!

Moore told David Letterman on CBS' "Late Show" Wednesday that she once made a resolution to go skydiving, and decided to try jumping tandem with an experienced instructor.

"So thrilling!" Moore gushed. "I'm addicted, I want to go again!" She added that she loved how serene and quiet it was the moment after her parachute opened.

The 22-year-old singer and actress said she was just a little afraid when she stayed at a recording studio built in an old house in the upstate New York town of Woodstock. Moore was there to work on her upcoming album, due this spring.

She was told ahead of time that the house was haunted by the matriarch of the family who once lived there.

"I'm a big scaredy-cat," she said. "So as soon as I arrived in my part of the house I walked around to every room saying, 'I'm just here for a couple of months and I'm here to do something real and creative, so please don't scare me, please leave me alone!'"

Moore told Letterman that she heard footsteps at night, would come home late and find all the lights on in her room, and would find her laundry thrown on the floor.

2"There's not a chance that raccoons could get in the house?" asked Letterman.

She insisted there was no other way to explain it, other than there being ghosts in the house.

One thing that did give Moore the jitters was starring opposite her idol, Diane Keaton, in the upcoming film "Because I Said So" opening Feb. 2.

"Diane truly is on a pedestal to me. I love her," said Moore.
