Maggie Gyllenhaal and Emma Thompson Rock "Nanny McPhee" Premiere
NEW YORK (CBS) Actors Maggie Gyllenhaal and Emma Thompson complimented and complemented one another Tuesday night at the New York premiere of "Nanny McPhee Returns" at AMC Loews Lincoln Square.
The two, who had nothIng but kind words for one another and for the movie, which opens Friday, were dressed in little black dresses.
Gyllenhaal, accompanied by husband Peter Sarsgaard, wore a one-shoulder dress by Lanvin with beige wedge sandals. Thompson wore shiny, peep-toe heels with her long-sleeved, scoop-neck dress.
The sequel to a 2005 family film about a governess who practices magic, "Nanny McPhee Returns " is about the same governess, played by Thompson, as she helps a harried young mother, played by Gyllenhaal, who is trying to run the family farm while her husband is away at war.
The two stars have been promoting the movie heavIly in recent weeks and in each interview, they toss verbal bouquets at one another. Gyllenhaal has been particularly complimentary about the script, which Thompson wrote.
