Madonna's Marriage On The Rocks?

Madonna's desire to adopt a second child from Malawi is putting strain on her six-year union with director Guy Ritchie, the New York Post reports.

The couple is still in the process of trying to adopt a Malawian boy named David Banda.

"They've had a difficult time. (David) is beautiful and Guy is very good with him. But I don't think he'd want to adopt again," Ritchie's dad, John Ritchie, told London's Daily Mail, according to the Post.

Friction between the England-based couple became apparent two weeks ago, the newspaper said, when they bickered over dinner at an Italian restaurant in London.

"Diners overheard Ritchie attacking the singer for being 'so controlling' while she appeared troubled as she played with her food," the Mail reports.

On Nov. 30, The Associated Press reported that the singer and her hubby accepted a High Court ruling allowing a coalition of human rights groups to monitor them as they try to adopt.

"The Ritchies called me from London and I explained to them the ruling ... they have no problem with the ruling and are also willing to sit back and wait," Madonna's lawyer told the AP at the time.
