In first interview in a decade, Macaulay Culkin refutes heroin addiction rumors
The star of "Home Alone" would rather be left alone.
Even when being interviewed, Macaulay Culkin remains elusive. While chatting with the Guardian for his first sit-down interview in a decade, the man who used to be the most successful child in the world makes it clear there are things he'd rather not talk about -- like the "Home Alone" films, becoming emancipated from his parents at 14 or his friendship with Michael Jackson.
One thing he will discuss, however, is heroin. Or more specifically, the rumors that have been going around for years that he'd become addicted to the drug.
"No, I was not pounding six grand of heroin every month or whatever," Culkin said in the interview. The rumors began circulating in 2012 after paparazzi photographed Culkin in New York City looking gaunt.
"The thing that bugged me was tabloids wrapping it all in this weird guise of concern," he said. "No, you're trying to shift papers."
