NEW YORK (CBS) The castaways of ABC's "Lost" have definitely seen "The Light" in ratings numbers this Sunday.

The two-and-a-half hour series closer became the highest-rated episode in two years for the show, taking in 13 million viewers and drawing a 5.6 preliminary rating among adults, ages 18-49. Although it was a worthy success for ABC, the show did not meet up to the huge ratings expected, given the litany of hype and publicity leading up to the show's finale.

ABC's pre-show "Lost: The Final Journey" did very well with 11.4 million viewers and a 4.0 preliminary rating. The "Jimmy Kimmel Live" post-"Lost" spoof-leaning send-off came in third out of the night with 3.2 million viewers, but Kimmel took home his talk show's third-largest adult audience ever. Appearances by several cast members also helped keep viewers on ABC's dial, too.

"Lost" managed to be a big ratings winner over other Sunday finales including NBC's "Celebrity Apprentice 3"which took in 9.3 million viewers and FOX's "Family Guy" earning 6.3 million watchers.

"Lost" debuted on Sept. 22, 2004.

The "Complete Sixth and Final Season" box set is scheduled to be released in August.
