Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher: My brother was "shot 5 times"

WEST HILLS, Calif. -- The brother of a Los Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher is believed to be seriously wounded in West Hills, reports CBS Los Angeles.

Josh Ravin said via Twitter on Sunday that his brother, Joel Ravin, was shot five times.

LAPD spokesperson Mike Lopez told a local radio station that a shooting happened at 1:45 a.m. Sunday. While law enforcement officials could not immediately confirm the identity of the victim to CBS Los Angeles, Ravin's mother, Lana Ravin, said Joel had one bullet lodged in his kidney and another in his neck, according to a Los Angeles newspaper.

"Our victim is currently at a local hospital in stable condition," the officer said. "Our detectives are working on the case right now to try to find out the motive and to find out who is responsible for the shooting."

Josh Ravin -- who made a brief debut with the Dodgers this season -- later tweeted: "We know who the shooter is. So does the LAPD. Justice is on the way!"
