Listen to Slacker Streaming Radio on Your BlackBerry
I'm a longtime fan of Slacker, a Web-based radio service that creates custom stations based on your favorite artists. Until now, your only option for listening to Slacker on the go was Slacker's own portable player. But now BlackBerry users can get in on the music-streaming action: Slacker Radio is now available for BlackBerry.
The app offers unlimited free music, with only the occasional commercial interruption (or not if you subscribe to Slacker Radio Plus for $3.99 monthly). You can listen to your personalized stations and over 100 pre-programmed genre stations (think: XM Radio).
The Slacker app can play tunes in the background while you're doing other stuff on your BlackBerry. Cooler still, a BlackBerry-only caching feature lets you store favorite stations on a memory card so you can listen even when you're offline (much like with Slacker's own player).
Man, this is the first time I've ever been jealous of BlackBerry users. (No offense -- I'm just more of an iPhone fan. Thankfully, an iPhone version is coming soon.) Take the Slacker app for a spin, then hit the Comments to let us know how you like it.
