Leonardo DiCaprio on the cover of October's GQ
(CBS) Leonardo DiCaprio is on the cover of the October issue of GQ. He and Clint Eastwood, who directed him in the upcoming "J. Edgar," talk about working together, what works in the movie biz and the public's obsession with the box office.
A choice moment, in which DiCaprio describes his initial reacting to acting with Robert De Niro:
"My introduction to acting in films was with De Niro in 'This Boy's Life.' When I got the part I was 15, and somebody said, 'Do you realize who you're gonna work with?' I said, 'Yeah, I guess.'"
And Clint Eastwood describes himself as a social libertarian:
"I was an Eisenhower Republican when I started out at 21, because he promised to get us out of the Korean War. And over the years, I realized there was a Republican philosophy that I liked. And then they lost it. And libertarians had more of it. Because what I really believe is, let's spend a little more time leaving everybody alone."
"J. Edgar," Eastwood's biopic of FBI director J. Edgar Hoover, opens Nov. 9. The GQ issue with DiCaprio and Eastwood hits newsstands Sept. 20.
