NEW YORK (CBS) As the world waits to learn where "King James" will place his thrown, LeBron James and his mother have been slapped with a $4 million lawsuit by a man who claims to be his daddy.

Talk about perfect timing.

According to TMZ, Leicester Bryce Stovell claims he tried to prove he was the NBA star's biological father, but was sabotaged by James and his mom, accusing them of tampering with the evidence in a DNA cover-up.

According to the documents filed in federal court, and obtained by the website, Stovell claims he met Gloria James in a Washington, D.C. area bar in 1984 and had unprotected sex with her on the night they met.

In his lawsuit, Stovell claims Gloria James went back to Ohio after the hook-up, but returned several months later to inform him she was pregnant.

Stovell, a 55-year-old Princeton graduate, says he vividly remembers telling her, "Well, if he's mine, make sure he plays basketball." He claims that was the last time he saw her for more than 20 years.

According to the documents, Stovell claims he tried to reconnect with Gloria James over the phone in 2007. During the conversation, he says she denied ever meeting him and threatened to have him physically harmed.

A few days after the call, Stovell claims LeBron James, through his attorney, agreed to take a DNA paternity test.

Stovell claims he was given results that showed he was not LeBron's father, but began to suspect that the results were tampered with and that Gloria and LeBron were behind the fraud.

Stovell is now seeking $4 million from both LeBron and his mother claiming fraud, defamation and misrepresentation.
