Lauren Spierer cops get 300 tips on truck in missing Ind. Univ. student case
(CBS/WISH/AP) BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Investigators were checking into dozens of leads about a pickup truck spotted near where a missing Indiana University student Lauren Spierer was last seen, police said, a day after releasing security camera images from the night she disappeared.

Almost 300 tips came into the police department since security camera pictures of the truck were made public, most of them about the vehicle.
The truck was seen circling around a city block in the area when 20-year-old Spierer was last seen walking alone toward her apartment around 4:30 a.m. June 3. Police are now seeking that truck and its driver noting that her or she is not a suspect at this time, reports CBS affiliate WISH.
"The significance of that is that it was a very close proximity to where she was last seen, 11th and College, and this vehicle is in the same area twice," said Bloomington Police Department Capt. Joe Qualters said Wednesday.
Qualters said that the truck is not a suspect but that it represents a new person who may know more information about the moments when Spierer was last seen.
The vehicle is a 4-door white Chevrolet Silverado or Colorado. It is a short bed truck with distinctive wheels, and has a bed liner and writing or a logo on its sides, police say, and it appears to be a mid-2000s model.
Anyone with information about the truck is asked to call the Bloomington Police Department at 812-339-4477. Callers may remain anonymous.
