Lauren Bush, David Lauren to wed Sunday in Colorado
(CBS) Long-time celeb couple model Lauren Bush and David Lauren, son of designer Ralph Lauren, are reportedly tying the knot in Colorado this weekend.
The 27-year-old bride is the niece of former president George W. Bush and the granddaughter of former president George H.W. Bush and former first lady Barbara Bush. The groom, who will turn 40 in October, is senior vice president of advertising, marketing and corporate communications at Polo Ralph Lauren.
He is the younger son of the designer and the brother of candy mogul (Dylan's Candy Bar) Dylan Lauren .
According to published reports, her grandparents won't be at the wedding, taking place at the designer's Rocky Mountain estate. The official reason is the high altitude, which could cause health problems for the former first couple, now in their 80s. But some blogs have speculated that the messy divorce between their son Neil and Lauren's mom, Sharon Smith Bush, could be part of the reason.
It is not known whether her uncle will be among the guests at three days of Western-themed festivities.
New York magazine is reporting that the designer has planned a picnic and softball game on Saturday, a rehearsal dinner Saturday night and a rodeo on Monday, with the wedding to take place Sunday. Dress is black tie with a Western twist
All the events will be at his 17,000-acre Double RL ranch in Telluride.
