Kristen Stewart suits up for "Snow White"
(CBS/AP) Universal Pictures has released the first images of "Snow White and the Huntsman," starring Kristen Stewart, and judging from the look of it, the studio's take on the fairy tale will offer a much tougher portrait of the princess than Relativity Media's competing untitled Snow White project starring Lily Collins.

Stewart, who is taking on the title role, is dressed in armor and wields a sword and shield in one of the photos, which debuted at Comic-Con on Saturday.
It is a dark contrast to the colorful first-look at Collins as the fairy tale princess, which was released just the day before.
Speaking at a panel for the movie, Stewart said that doing a sweet, traditional Snow White was not something "I was jumping at." What attracted her was that this Snow White was a bold leader with her feet firmly on the ground.
"Also, I get to have a sword and stuff," the "Twilight" star said. "Really cool weapons."
Stewart's "Snow White" also features Charlize Theron as the wicked queen, Chris Hemsworth as a rugged huntsman and Sam Claflin as a prince. It is due in theaters next June.
