(CBS) KISS frontman Paul Stanley had a reportedly successful surgery on Tuesday for his "recurring vocal cord issues" that he said Wednesday are a symptom of 40 years of "preaching rock n' roll."

The 59-year-old rocker, who has been touring and recording with KISS for most of his life, is expected to make a "swift and complete" recovery, according to a statement from his publicist, reports CNN.

"I hold myself to a higher standard than others do," he said according to Billboard.com. "With that in mind, I wanted to remedy a few minor issues that come with 40 years of preaching rock n' roll."

KISS is now working on their 20th album entitled "Monster" due out in 2012, and a world tour.
