Kim Kardashian Botox Nightmare: The Real Story
(CBS) Kim Kardashian has calmed down a week after facial bruises caused by recent Botox treatments left the reality queen panicked.
She says her on-camera Botox outburst on "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" was over the top, and that her doctor had done nothing wrong.
"He had warned me about the side effects, as all good surgeons do, but because this was the first time I had done anything like this, I freaked out on the episode when I noticed the bruising," she wrote on her blog Wednesday.
"Freaked out" is an apt phrase for the outburst, as CBS News reported last week. "I'm feeling like my eyes are on fire," she said on the show. "What if he hit a nerve? Seriously, I know this is not normal. What I am feeling is not normal."
Dr. Anthony Youn, a Detroit-area plastic surgeon who does scores of Botox treatments a month, said it's normal to experience bruising after the injections.
"Any time you stick a needle in someone's skin you can hit a vein and cause a bruise," he told CBS News. "It's always temporary. Typically, it will last a couple of days to a couple of weeks. It's not a sign that it's botched or a long-term complication."
That's good news for Kim, who was worried about wrinkles as she approaches 30.
