Kim cancels baby shower, Kardashians release statement in wake of Lamar Odom hospitalization
The Kardashians aren't keeping up with their reality TV show duties in the wake of Lamar Odom's hospitalization.
Kim Kardashian has pulled the plug on her baby shower, her rep confirms. According to ET, Kim and Kanye West had planned to celebrate the upcoming birth of their second baby at the home of family friend Sharon Azoff on Saturday. Kim's sisters were supposed to co-host the party, which was expected to be filmed for an episode of "Keeping Up with the Kardashians."
On top of the baby shower change, the Kardashian family members have ceased publishing content across their mobile apps and websites. Kim, Khloe and Kylie's mobile apps now show a message that reads: "As a family, we've decided to hold off on publishing across our apps while we continue to support and pray for Lamar. Thank you for your kindness and understanding during this difficult time."
Members of the Kardashian family, including Kim, Kourtney and their mom Kris Jenner, rushed to the hospital to be with Odom in Las Vegas this week -- though they have since gone home. His estranged wife, Khloe Kardashian, remains in Vegas by his side, according to reports. The former couple, who wed in 2009, split in 2013 and have been separated ever since. Although they signed documents over the summer, the divorce hasn't been officially approved by a judge yet.
The 35-year-old former NBA star was found unconscious at the Love Ranch brothel in Crystal, Nevada, on Tuesday, with white and reddish substances coming from his nose and mouth. There has been no official word on Odom's condition, with mixed reports coming from a variety of sources. Authorities have taken a blood sample to find out if the ex-reality star overdosed on drugs or alcohol, but the results could take several weeks.
