Kidd, Suns Shine On Warriors
Jason Kidd's visit to his hometown turned, as usual, into a painful experience for the Golden State Warriors.
Kidd had 15 points, 14 assists, nine rebounds and three steals as the Phoenix Suns defeated the Warriors 99-82 Sunday night for their 18th victory in 23 games.
Kidd, who grew up in Oakland and starred in college at nearby California, came within one rebound of his sixth triple-double of the season. He leads active players with 31 career triple-doubles.
"The biggest thing is trying not to go for a triple-double. If I had been going for it tonight, I would have stayed in the game," said Kidd, who left with 3:04 remaining. "If I get enough rest, that just makes me stronger for tomorrow."

"They leave you wide open, you've got to make it," Rogers said. "It's fine with me. I guess they don't pay attention to the scouting reports."
Larry Hughes had 25 points, nine rebounds and a career-high five steals for the Warriors, who have lost nine of 10. Jason Caffey added 20 points for Golden State.
Trailing by seven points at halftime, the Warriors opened the third period with an 11-2 run. The streak was capped by Hughes' 3-pointer, giving Golden State a 58-56 lead with 7:55 let in the quarter.
But Phoenix responded with a 12-2 run, including a 3-pointer by Kidd, to take a 68-60 lead. Another 3 by Kidd gave the Suns a 73-64 lead with 1 1/2 minutes left in the period. Phoenix led 76-66 entering the fourth quarter.
After Caffey opened the final period with a dunk, Rogers scored 10 points as the Suns went on an 11-0 run that made it 87-68. The run was capped by an alley-oop from Kidd to Rogers for a slam.
"Phoenix just stepped up and made the plays, and we couldn't make them. We took the lead, and then we just couldn't shut them down," Caffey said.
Robinson had 19 points and Kidd had 10 assists as the Suns, who are 7-3 on the road since the All-Star break, took a 54-47 halftime lead. Phoenix led by as many as 15 points early in the second quarter.
Hughes had 15 points and Caffey added 12 in the first half for Golden State, which has lost five straight at home.
