Kelly Clarkson cancels tour dates for vocal rest

Kelly Clarkson has to miss out on part of her tour on doctor's orders.

The singer apologized on Twitter for canceling concerts in Vienna, Virginia, Tampa and West Palm Beach in Florida, Raleigh, North Carolina and Camden, New Jersey -- five dates through Sept. 20.

Clarkson wrote on her Twitter account that she needed vocal rest.

"So bummed that I have to cancel some of my tour dates," she wrote on Friday. "This kills me, but doctors are saying I need to rest my voice!"

"I can't wait to get healthy and see y'all back on the road soon. I hate canceling ...

"and I am truly sorry to my fans that have been excited to see this show," she wrote in another tweet.

Finally, the singer reiterated that it was not an easy decision to cancel her concerts.

"Please know that I never cancel anything unless it's absolutely necessary," she tweeted.

Clarkson announced in August that she is pregnant. We hope the mom-to-be gets in lots of R&R during her break.
