Katrina Miracle

The Markham family of New Orleans is about to get bigger, with a baby whose arrival is expected next week.

That news would be exciting for any family, but this child is an extra-special delivery, as CBS News correspondent Kelly Cobiella explains in an exclusive report.

The baby began life as a frozen embryo that would never have survived the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, if not for the determination of doctors and a team of rescuers.

Cobiella spoke with the Markhams and the rescuers, and even brought them together for the first time.

So far, seven other families have become pregnant or had babies from the rescued embyros.

Rebekah and Glen are scheduled to have their second child Tuesday, and to appear on The Early Show Wednesday.
