Katie Couric to publish new book
(CBS/AP) Katie Couric will be sharing some of the useful tips she learned throughout her career in journalism when her first book hits shelves this spring.
The CBS News anchor has compiled "The Best Advice I Ever Got: Lessons from Extraordinary Lives" which is scheduled to come out April 12, Random House announced Thursday.
The book features contributions from baseball player Alex Rodriguez, actress Meryl Streep, Condoleezza Rice, Queen Rania of Jordan and more than 100 others.
"I know there are a lot of books out there with different pieces of advice, but I don't know if there is anything quite like this out there," Couric told the New York Times.
The project originated with a commencement speech Couric gave last May at Case-Western Reserve University in Cleveland.
Profits will be donated to Scholarship America, a nonprofit scholarship and educational support organization.
Couric, who has written two children's books, will also include insights about her life and career, from her years on NBC's "Today" show to her current work with CBS.
