Katee Sackhoff Set to Join Cast of "CSI"

NEW YORK (CBS) Actress Katee Sackhoff will be joining the cast of "CSI."

The 30-year-old actress will play Detective Reed, a no-nonsense investigator with an acknowledged lack of sensitivity, according to published reports.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Sackhoff was a first-choice of the producers of "CSI" more than three years ago as a replacement for Jorja Fox.

The actress is set to join the cast in a potentially recurring role.

Sackhoff is known for her roles in "Battlestar Galactica" and "24." She will be doing another guest appearance on "The Big Bang Theory" as well as appearing on the CBS crime drama.

Sackhoff's first episode is slated to air during November sweeps on CBS.
