Kate Upton lands third Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue cover
It just wouldn't be a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover without Kate Upton -- at least not recently, anyway.
The model, who graced the cover of the past two Swimsuit editions, is featured on the back cover of the new 50th anniversary issue. Donning a pink bikini, Upton is book-ended by models Nina Agdal, Lily Aldridge and Chrissy Tiegan, who all appear on the front cover of the 2014 issue.
In another photo spread inside the issue, Upton is aboard a plane floating in zero gravity. In a video from the shoot, the 21-year-old model is seen attempting to pose while a crew of photographers (also floating around) try to get a good shot.
"In my experience at Sports Illustrated, it's about the adventure," Upton said in a behind-the-scenes video for the S.I. website. "It's so hard to explain how it feels. You're weightless, you're floating around, you have no control. But I got the hang of it."
Upton is apparently getting used to posing in interesting places for Sports Illustrated.
Last year, she spent more than a week in Antarctica to shoot the cover, telling CBS News, "It took two days to get down there and we were on the ship for six days. To say it was an adventure was a complete understatement. I was in a bikini, which I don't recommend to anybody. But it was the most beautiful place I've ever been.
