Karen Born Brakes for No Good Reason: NJ Woman Arrested for Harassing Other Drivers

Need for Speed?: NJ Woman Arrested for Harrassing Drivers by Repeatedly Braking on Road
Karen Born (New Jersey Department of Corrections)

ABERDEEN, N.J. (CBS/AP) Ever wonder who those drivers are that seem to have a personal vendetta against you with their annoying refusal to put the pedal to the metal?

Meet 52-year-old Karen Born.

New Jersey authorities have accused Born of repeatedly harassing drivers on the Garden State Parkway by continuously braking on the road, which forced motorists to tailgate her.

State Police Sgt. Brian Polite said state troopers issued a warrant for Born's arrest after 22 incidents of alleged harassment were reported over the summer. According to Polite, Born would call police after the other driver would pull over, and claim she was being harassed and stalked by the other driver.

"She put the lives of the troopers, the other drivers and hers in great danger," Polite said, according to the DailyRecord.com.

Born was released on $27,500 bail and charged with harassment, falsely incriminating others and filing false reports to law enforcement.

But will it put the brakes on her alleged dangerous driving?
