Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon talk in hashtags
(CBS News) Twitter posts often sound ridiculous. So imagine what a literal conversation spoken all in tweet would sound like out loud. Pretty nonsensical. Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake reenacted an entire conversation in in tweets in a skit from Tuesday's "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon." Check out the hilarious video above, aptly titled "#Hashtag." Twitter is bound to make us all sound like idiots -- especially when you combine the limited character restrictions, overuse of silly and often redundant hashtags (I still don't get that whole hashtag thing) and creative spelling. It's a recipe for inarticulateness (even coming from the most intelligent, well-spoken people). The duo demonstrated just how absurd hashtags are (see!), by literally showing people's overuse of them using hand gestures. And with all that gesturing, it looks like they are speaking in sign language -- or making deals on the trading floor of the New York Stock Exchange! So, lose the tags and pass the JT-baked cookie! #justkidding #iknowhedidntbakethem #keepthetweetdreamalive #tweetthefeed
