"Justified" season three premieres with new villians
(CBS) "Justified" premiered its third season Tuesday night, picking up with U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens on the same day last season's finale, "Bloody Harlan," took place. During that episode it was revealed Raylan had been shot.
(SPOILER ALERT)
In "The Gunfighter," Raylan is assigned to desk duty while he recovers from the gunshot, but it's not long before he takes on a new nemesis - Fletcher Nix, who is played by Desmond Harrington of "Dexter."
Nix is a cold-blooded killer who makes killing his victims a game. He places his gun on the table between himself and his intended victim, then counts down to ten explaining that at the count of "one" the two are supposed to reach for the gun. When the victim reaches for the gun he stabs their hand with an ice pick and shoots them.
But when Raylan meets Nix in a standoff and is asked to play the killer's game, things don't go as planned. When Nix counts down to "one" Raylan moves his hand causing Nix to stab the table and not his hand, at which point Raylan grabs the gun and kills the villain, in a classic "Justified" showdown.
"Justified" airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
