Judge asks 50 Cent why he showed stacks of cash on Instagram
HARTFORD, Conn. -- 50 Cent says the stacks of cash that drew questions from a bankruptcy court judge aren't real.
Judge Ann Nevins has ordered the rapper to appear in bankruptcy court in Hartford on Wednesday to explain the Instagram photos. One depicts 50 Cent next to piles of cash arranged to spell out "broke."
The U.S. trustee's office is asking Nevins to appoint an examiner to review the rapper's assets.
The rapper says in a court filing Tuesday that the bills were props and he isn't hiding assets.
50 Cent, born Curtis Jackson III, filed for bankruptcy last year after a New York City jury ordered him to pay $7 million to a woman who said he posted her sex tape online.
