(CBS News) "The Hunger Games" heartthrob Josh Hutcherson made a splash as a presenter at the Kids' Choice Awards Saturday night, but he didn't get any of the green slime that rained down on other stars like Chris Colfer, Taylor Lautner and Justin Bieber.

The 19-year-old Kentucky native, who plays Peeta in the wildly popular movie, drew applause cheers and whistles when he walked onstage with singer Nicki Minaj to present one of the first awards of the night.

Earlier, he mixed with screaming fans outside Los Angeles' Galen Center, where the fan-voted awards were handed out.

The show is known for sliming its stars, but Hutcherson was spared that. Instead, buckets of green slime greeted "Glee" star Chris Colfer, another presenter; "Twilight" star Taylor Lautner, an award winner; and singer Justin Bieber, voted the celebrity fans most wanted to see slimed.
