Jon Voight, Robert De Niro take sides in Trump vs. Clinton
Stars, they’re just like us -- especially when it comes to feuding over politics on social media.
A video of Robert De Niro saying he would like to “punch [Trump] in the face” was leaked Friday. It was recorded as part of the #VoteYourFuture campaign, although it was not released by #VoteYourFuture. According to Variety, the video was considered too partisan to be released along with the voter push.
“I mean, he’s so blatantly stupid,” De Niro says. “He’s a punk. He’s a dog. He’s a pig. he’s a con, a bulls—t artist, a mutt who doesn’t know what he’s talking about, doesn’t do his homework, doesn’t care, thinks he’s gaming society, doesn’t pay his taxes. He’s an idiot.”
De Niro, a Democrat, has been outspoken against Trump for a long time, saying in August that the GOP nominee is “totally nuts,” according to the Associated Press.
Actor Jon Voight, one of the few outspoken Republicans in Hollywood, responded on Twitter.
Although the video was likely recorded before the 2005 “Access Hollywood” video became public on Friday, Voight tweeted that he doesn’t ”know of too many men who haven’t expressed some sort of similar sexual terms toward women, especially in their younger years.”
Voight then called De Niro’s comments “more damaging” than Trump saying he “grabs [women] by the p----.”
De Niro does not have a Twitter account and has not yet responded.
