Joint Base Andrews locked down over woman's bomb threat
CAMP SPRINGS, Md. -- The main gate at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland was on lock down Thursday evening after a security incident was reported at the Visitor Control Center, the base said on Twitter.
The incident has since been defused.
CBS News' David Martin reported that a woman showed up at the base visitor center claiming to be wearing a bomb vest.
According to one AF law enforcement source, the individual did not have a bomb and is now in custody.
The incident took place around 5:15 p.m.
Emergency responders were on scene.
