John McAfee, anti-virus software creator, wanted for questioning in Belize homicide

(CBS) A spokesman for the Belize National Security Ministry tells CBS News that John McAfee, the founder of the computer anti-virus company that bears his name, is wanted for questioning in a homicide investigation.

According to a statement released by the San Pedro police, the body of 52-year-old Gregory Viant Faull was found "lying face up in a pool of blood with an apparent gunshot wound on the upper rear part of his head" on the morning of November 11. An expended 9mm lugar brand shell was reportedly found at the scene.

The statement says that Faull, an American, was last seen alive around 10 p.m. the night before. Missing from his home were a laptop and iPhone.

According to tech blog Gizmodo, which on Nov. 8 published an account of journalist Jeff Wise's visit to McAfee, who had been living in Belize, "Last Wednesday, Faull filed a formal complaint against McAfee with the mayor's office, asserting that McAfee had fired off guns and exhibited "roguish behavior."

According to Wise, "[McAfee's] behavior has become increasingly erratic, and by his own admission he had begun associating with some of the most notorious gangsters in Belize."
