John Mayer Cancels European Tour After Illness

NEW YORK (CBS) Rock musician John Mayer has been forced to cancel the rest of his European tour dates after coming down with an undisclosed illness.

The 32-year-old "Battle Studies" rocker had to cancel a concert last night in Copenhagen and will be coming back to the United States to recover.

According to a statement on his website, "a full recovery is expected under a doctor's supervision."

Mayer had been slated to perform in two-sold out shows in Amsterdam and a festival gig in Madrid, including an arena show in Manchester.

Mayer is hoping to have a full recovery in time for the American leg of his "Battle Studies" tour when it resumes July 16 in Charlotte, N.C.
