John Dockery
Returned to CBS Sports after seven years with NBC Sports where he served as a sideline reporter for Notre Dame football broadcasts (1991-97). He also filed reports for the network's coverage of the 1992 and 1996 Olympic Summer Games and also provided commentary for weightlifting coverage in 1992.
First joined CBS Sports in 1980 as a NFL analyst and served as reporter for college football from 1986-90. Also at CBS he provided commentary for Paris-Rubaix and Tour de France bicycle races and 1987 Pan Am Games.
He began broadcasting career as field reporter for SportsExtra, a weekly sports wrap-up show on WNEW-TV in New York City. Played cornerback for the New York Jets and was a member of the Joe Namath-led team that won AFL Championship in 1968 and Super Bowl III. He also played with the Pittsburgh Steelers from 1972 to 1974.
In college he played halfback and saftey at Harvard and was selected All-East and All-Ivy. He also captained the baseball team as a senior and was the top base stealer in the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Association. Graduated from Harvard in 1967. Born September 6, 1944, he and wife, Anne, reside in Brooklyn Heights, N.Y. and have two daughters.
