John Corbett to star in "NCIS: Los Angeles" spinoff
The "NCIS" spinoff "NCIS: Los Angeles" may soon be getting its own spinoff. A pilot for a planned series, "NCIS: Red," is reportedly in the works, with actor John Corbett in a starring role.
According to "The Hollywood Reporter," Corbett will play the leader of a special traveling NCIS "Red Team," investigating crimes across the country. "NCIS: Los Angeles" cast member Miguel Ferrer is also expected to star in this new series, continuing his role as Assistant Director Owen Granger.
Corbett previously starred in the comedy "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" and had a recurring role as Aidan Shaw on "Sex and the City." The 51-year-old actor has been in a long-term relationship with actress Bo Derek.
THR reports that the first installment of "NCIS: Red" will be presented as a back-door pilot, meaning it will debut as an episode of "NCIS: LA." The episode is expected to air sometime this spring.
"NCIS" and "NCIS: Los Angeles" currently air Tuesday nights on CBS.
