J.Lo's Wedding: The Details
We all remember the hoopla over the wedding that DIDN'T happen last year to actor Ben Affleck. Well, Saturday's wedding was a much more low-key affair. Or maybe, in this case, a "J-Low-Key affair." Bob Goen of "Entertainment Tonight" reports on The Early Show.
For her marriage to singer Marc Anthony, JenniferLopez wore a Vera Wang champagne, chantilly-lace ruffled gown from the designer's spring 2005 collection.
Janice Min, Us magazine's editor-in-chief, says, "She had some stylists from another designer help her get into the dress, which leads us to believe it was bought off the rack."
Jennifer held the surprise sunset nuptials Saturday, just past six o'clock, in the back yard of her own Beverly Hills home. A blanket of petals carpeted the path, which led to the lavish flower-covered archway where she and Marc wed.
Jennifer and an Armani-clad Marc held hands as they exchanged their vows, which were witnessed by about 50 family and friends. Next week's issue of Us magazine, on stands Friday, reports the union caught the guests off-guard as well.
Min says, "They were told (beforehand) it was a party for the MTV Movie Awards, but she told them it was a wedding and there were cheers."
In a picture, the bride is shown lifting up her wedding ring. Lopez also is pictured with her little flower girl, who got an up-close look at Lopez's multiple diamond-and-platinum Neil Lane necklace.
Jewelry designer Lane notes, "She was looking for a glamorous, glamorous old Hollywood feeling."
Her attendants wore turquoise gowns. Her sister, Lynda, was seated in the second row behind mom, Guadalupe. Just last week, Anthony went to the Dominican Republic to get a quickie divorce that became final just four days before his nuptials to Lopez.
Min notes, "We had one source who told us Jennifer pressured him into the divorce, but he's wanted to marry her since they first started dating in 1999."
After Anthony kissed his bride, the newlyweds held hands and walked down the aisle, holding a white umbrella over their heads. And an array of pink, white and blue balloons were released into the sky.
Min says, "I know the conspiracy theorists are going to say that the pink blue and white balloons mean there's a baby on the way, but pastels were the theme of the wedding."
The 33-year-old bride was all smiles as she embraced her mom. Guadalupe also gave her new son-in-law a warm embrace. But it will be a short honeymoon. Lopez is already back at work on her film "Monster In Law" with Jane Fonda, and Anthony is doing promotion for his new album.
Part of Marc Anthony's promotional tour for his album "To Love Without Lies" (or "Amar Sin Mentiras" in Spanish) will be on The Early Show for the Summer Concert series.
And on "Entertainment Tonight" later on Tuesday, get up-close and personal with that amazing jewelry Lopez was wearing, hearing directly from designer Neil Lane.
