Officials believe Jessica Heeringa, 25, was abducted while closing the Exxon Mobil gas station in Norton Shores, Mich., where she worked, according to CBS affiliate WWJ.
Four persons of interest have been interviewed and cleared as suspects, police said, reports MLive.
Officials are treating the case as an abduction and an extensive investigation was ongoing Monday, reports MLive.
Heeringa, the mother of a 3-year-old boy, worked the late night shift, and was reportedly the only person in the store at the time of the incident. MLive reports customers called 911 after entering the store and finding it empty.
There was reportedly no video surveillance in the store. Heeringa's purse and other personal belongings were found at the gas station, and there was reportedly no money missing from the cash drawer. Police said there was apparently no struggle inside the store, reports MLive.
Police are searching for a silver minivan, which may be a
Chrysler Town and Country, that was seen at the station before
Heeringa's disappearance. The Chrysler minivan raised suspicions because it may have been there in the past, reports the Detroit Free Press.
Police said a passerby saw the van parked near the gas station, and then it drove away, reports MLive.
Police are describing the driver of the van as a white male, between 30 and 40 years old, about six feet tall, with a medium to heavy build and broad shoulders. The driver had light brown or sandy blonde wavy hair and was last seen wearing a bright red or orange sweatshirt, reports MLive.
Heeringa is described as a white female, about five feet, one inch tall and 110 pounds, with shoulder-length blond hair and blue eyes. She reportedly wears wire rimmed glasses and may be wearing a blue collared shirt labeled with "Sternberg Exxon."
