"It's the first time I have worked with my kids in that way," Lopez, 40, told Us Weekly. "It was a totally special experience."
She added that the twins "had fun" posing for the pictures, which were shot in Malibu, Calif., by photographers Mert and Marcus.
"I did a photo shoot when they were 3 weeks old, but now that they are 2 1/2, it's totally different!"
She also told the magazine her daughter is showing signs of being a budding fashionista - "Emme likes to pick out her own outfits and likes to sleep in her princess dress" - while Max "prefers to run around the house with no clothes on."
The Gucci children's line hits stores in November. In honor of the collection, the fashion house donated $1 million to UNICEF's Schools for Africa initiative and another $50,000 to Lopez's non-profit organization The Maribel Foundation, which focuses on improving the health and well-being of women and children and raising the level of medical care available to them.
