Set for release in March, "The Hunger Games" also stars Josh Hutcherson as fellow tribute Peeta Mellark; Liam Hemsworth as best friend Gale Hawthorne; Donald Sutherland as President Snow; Woody Harrelson as mentor Haymitch Abernathy; Stanley Tucci as TV host Caesar Flickerman; Lenny Kravitz as stylist Cinna and Elizabeth Banks as scheduler Effie Trinket.
Based on the young adult novel by Suzanne Collins, the movie is set in the post-Apocalyptic North American nation of Panem and is centered around nationally televised games in which teenage tributes from each district vie to kill the competition and emerge the victor.
The novel is part of a trilogy. Its sequel, "Catching Fire," is also being made into a movie with a Thanksgiving, 2013, release date. The third book, "Mockingjay," was released last year.
The 21-year-old Lawrence was nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe and won several other awards for her performance as an Ozark teen trying to keep her family together in the gritty independent drama "Winter's Bone."
