NEW YORK (CBS) Hip Hop luminaries Jay-Z and Eminem are set to bring rap to  home plate as they collaborate on a  first-ever concert at the new Yankee Stadium in the Bronx on Monday, the first of  a sold-out  double-header.

The widely-acclaimed artists, both winning "Moonmen" Sunday  at the MTV Video Music Awards ( Jay-Z for  "Empire State of Mind" and Eminem for "Not Afraid"),  are joining forces for the "Home and Home" tour.

The national tour kicked off at Comerica Park in Eminem's stomping grounds of Detroit earlier this month and is now making its way to the Big Apple.

According to the New York Daily News, tickets for the gigs are fetching for a pretty penny. The best tickets for the show are going for up to $13,000.

It's the first concert since the new stadium opened last year.

Jay-Z, who called the shows "a dream come true," took the stage first, followed by Eminem in Detroit.

The tables will be turned in New York with the Brooklyn rapper taking the last at-bat on the show, which is certain to have surprise guests.

Jay-Z's connection to the Yankees has always been strong. He's rarely spotted without wearing a Yankees fitted cap. In his hit song, "Empire State of Mind," he proclaimed, "I made the Yankee hat more famous than a Yankee can."

The rapper has also joined forces with the Yankees to release co-branded merchandise, from baseball caps to T-shirts and hooded sweat shirts, available now until Sept. 14.
