Jason Mraz to launch New York borough tour
Jason Mraz is gearing up for a tour of New York.
The singer held a press conference Wednesday at the Empire State Building where announced that he will do a New York residency of all five boroughs.
The trek, dubbed "The Five Boroughs Tour," begins Sept. 17 at the Brooklyn Center for Performing Arts at Brooklyn College before passing through the Bronx, Queens and Staten Island. The outing winds down Sept. 22 and 23 at New York's Radio City Music Hall.
The New York residency coincides with the release of Mraz's new album, "YES!"
Mraz recently spoke with "CBS Sunday Morning" about his music tackling the idea of getting out of a dark place: "I certainly don't want to bring an audience into that dark place and say, 'Come with me on a journey while I bum us all out,' and then hope that my next song gets us out. No, it has to happen within one song. If you're going to go to a sad place, for me I gotta get out of it before the song's over."
