Jason Biggs In 'Anything Else'

Many know Jason Biggs as the "American Pie" guy, but he is also a well-respected young actor.

With his latest role in the romantic comedy "Anything Else," Biggs joins an illustrious list of actors who have had the opportunity to star in a Woody Allen film.

Biggs visited The Early Show to discuss his new movie role.

Jason Biggs stars as Jerry Falk, an aspiring writer in New York, who falls in love at first sight with a free-spirited young woman named Amanda (Christina Ricci). But he painfully finds out that it may not be the best type of love for him.

Biggs describes Amanda as selfish, which leads to infidelity and committal issues. Jerry, he says, is the complete opposite of the object of his affection — the romantic is a selfless person to a fault. The lead character in the movie is timid about ending relationships and forgives Amanda many times, Biggs explains.

The young actor says he was initially ecstatic to hear Woody Allen was interested in casting him for the part of Jerry. But, Biggs says, he was nervous for the first two weeks working on the movie set. He says, however, working with Allen was a great learning experience.

Biggs says he also enjoyed working with Ricci, with whom he previously collaborated on the soon-to-be-released "Prozac Nation." He says they have great chemistry on screen.
