(CBS) James Spader is joining "The Office" as Dunder Mifflin's CEO. Congratulations, Robert California!

Entertainment Weekly reports NBC has confirmed the actor will join the cast for the show's upcoming eighth season. Paul Lieberstein, who plays Toby on "The Office" and is also an executive producer, says California will be hired as the new manager and get promoted several times to take over the company.

Kathy Bates played Dunder Mifflin's CEO last season. Steve Carell left the series after seven successful seasons as Michael Scott.
